Who We Work With: Construction

We’ve worked alongside builders, subcontractors and architects for more than three decades to provide construction metal fabrication services. Applying expertise, exquisite craftsmanship and industry-leading technology, we transform quality sheet metals into custom parts and products that meet your exact sizing, functionality and aesthetic requirements.

What we do

At CSM, our skill and passion lies in turning metal sheets for construction into perfectly formed parts, products or components that solve your unique challenge. We proudly specialise in customised sheet metal for subcontractors, builders and construction companies, creating custom solutions to exacting project budgets and timescales.

Whether it’s a residential, commercial or industrial project – a niche one-off design or a mass-produced part for installation across numerous sites – we love turning our hand to a new challenge.

We can work as a seamless extension of your team, providing support and filling skill and resource gaps where needed. Whether you need guidance to align ideas with budgets, want us to bring your brief to life, or simply need assistance with installation, we can help.

CSM’s work with construction sheet metal fabrication

We work with a range of sheet metals for building applications, including:

Steel

One of the most common metals used for construction projects, steel is a strong and versatile material. A steel sheet for construction projects holds endless potential, and can be used for secondary building structures, like mezzanine flooring and gantries, as well as fixtures, fittings and lighter-duty interior design features.

Structural steel is often galvanised or powder coated to increase strength, durability and corrosion-resistance, while steel for interior applications can be polished, brushed or powder-coated to enhance aesthetic appeal.

Aluminium

Boasting a high strength-to-weight ratio, aluminium is perfect for building components like beams and columns, adding structural integrity without significant mass. It’s also frequently used for roofing, windows and doors, and building metal panels, with natural corrosion resistance making it a good choice for parts and products that need to withstand the elements.

For outdoor and more heavy-duty applications, aluminium can be anodised, electroplated or powder-coated, increasing durability and resistance to rust and corrosion.

Copper

Copper is often used for roofing and bespoke metal cladding due to its strength, durability and corrosion-resistance. It’s also malleability and conductivity also makes it an effective material for a range of electrical and plumbing tasks.

At CSM, we often work with copper for decorative architectural and interior design features, from door push plates or custom kitchen splashbacks. Its natural red-brown hue adds a beautifully aesthetic touch to any part or product, but the metal can be finished in numerous ways to alter its appearance, or left to patina and character naturally.

Other materials

While steel, aluminium and copper are the most common sheet metals we work with in the construction sector, we also specialise in bronze, brass, pewter and zinc. These beautiful metals all have their own properties and applications, but are typically deployed for more decorative interior and architectural projects

We work on a broad range of architectural sheet metal projects and can help advise on material choice based on your brief. From beautiful bronze door and window frames to sleek pewter countertops, we can help make your vision a reality.
