Who We Work With: Architects

For over 30 years, we’ve worked with architects to create a range of bespoke metal products for building and interior design applications. Taking quality sheet metals, the expert CSM team apply industry leading tools, techniques and quality craftsmanship to bring your architectural visions to life.

What we do

Whether you’re looking for bespoke decorative metalwork like facade metal design and exterior metal finishes or secondary steel fabrications like mezzanine floors and staircases, CSM is trusted to deliver quality custom components to your desired aesthetic, budget and timescale.

We can work with you at any stage, whether you want to engage us at the beginning of a project to gauge what’s technically possible within budget, or you’d like us to work alongside you to develop concepts. Or, we can work to your finalised designs to deliver products to exacting specifications, and even assist your contractors with installation.

We’re trusted to deliver across all stages of projects, and have assisted architects with custom solutions, and worked on major refits for venues like London’s Sky Garden.

CSM’s work with architectural sheet metal fabrication

The CSM team is experienced in working with a range of different metals to create architectural sheet metal products, including:

  • Aluminium – A lightweight metal that adds structural integrity without significantly increasing weight, while its corrosion-resistance makes it ideal for outdoor environments. Aluminium can be powder-coated to enhance its durability or anodised to further increase its resistance to corrosion.

  • Bronze – Beautiful and full of character, bronze is a brilliant choice for a range of architectural and interior projects, from bar and countertops to push plates and handrails. Yet, its strength and durability also make it an attractive choice for a range of more heavy-duty applications too. Bronze can be lacquered to preserve its shiny red-brown exterior, left to patina, or brushed for a more textured look.

  • Copper – Another beautifully decorative yet strong and durable metal, perfect for statement pieces and special touches. Copper is incredibly flexible and malleable, making it perfect for precision metal fabrication. Used for many of the same applications as bronze, copper is a versatile metal and can be polished, left to patina, or given a natural satin matte finish.

While steel, aluminium, bronze and copper are typically the most popular metals for architectural projects, we also regularly work with
brass, pewter and zinc to create a range of decorative and functional interior pieces. Take a look at a selection of them here.

Not sure what metal best suits your brief or application? Not to worry – we have the design experience and expertise to help shape designs and advise on material choice. Talk to our team today.
