BS EN 1090-2: 2008: relating to the execution of steel structures and aluminium structures part 2 – Technical requirements for the execution of steel structures, outlines what is required to ensure steel structures and components meet adequate levels of mechanical resistance, stability, serviceability and durability

Specialist welding services

Decorative and functional

Welding is a crucial part of the sheet metal fabrication process, and when we weld, we use a combination of traditional and modern processes, depending on the product we’re manufacturing. Whatever the metal, we are a welding solutions company with the experience and the expertise to make the best choice when it comes to deciding which process to use to weld your product to perfection.

As well as welding stainless steel, like duplex and super duplex stainless steel, we can provide custom aluminium welding plus the full range of sheet and extruded metals including:

  • Aluminium
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Brass
  • Titanium
  • Tantalum

For internal fit-out and decorative projects like decorative bar tops, countertops, balustrading and handrails that add a unique touch to interior décor, we use a range of traditional and modern fabrication and custom welding techniques to produce stunning projects that look great and function well.

Our specialist welding credibility

In order to weld larger pieces of steel for structural welding, a company must be UKCA marked, and this is something the team at CSM are certified to do.

In addition, at CSM we have both certification and advanced welding procedures for both pre- and post-heating. This is essential for some of the metals we work with, particularly aluminium.

Cooling down the metal in a controlled manner means that the metal won’t crack or be otherwise damaged. We also have processes in place to ensure the integrity of the welded parts.

Companies return to CSM time and time again for our specialist welding services. We have years of experience in doing repair work for large specialist companies on both products and machines that have either cuts or other damages.

Industrial welding

Projects created and installed by CSM welding teams can be found in factories, warehouses and industrial premises across the UK. Typically, using mild stainless steel we create a variety of products, including; storage units, industrial storage racking, machinery guards, control panels, electrical cabinets and more.

Whether we’re producing cages for industrial premises, or providing products that can withstand high temperatures, such as furnaces, our specialist welding services ensure that we create sturdy, reliable and long-lasting products every time.

When heat resistance is important, we have experience in welding most stainless-steel materials, including common stainless steel grades. Some examples of these include 316 stainless steel, commonly used in the food industry, 310 stainless steel as a heat resistant material, as well as 320 stainless steel, featuring the same heat resistant property.

Structural welding

Fabricating, installing and welding structural steelwork requires pinpoint manufacturing accuracy combined with exceptional strength and load-bearing capacity. When welding larger pieces of steel for structural welding, a metal fabrication and welding services company must be UKCA marked, and this is something the team at CSM are certified to do.

We offer complete welding solutions using advanced welding procedures for both pre-and post-heating that produce structural installations that pass mandatory industry certification processes. With procedures in place that cool down the metal in a controlled manner, we ensure that the integrity of the welded parts is of a specification that meets or exceeds all safety standards. You can be confident that structural installations from CSM are industry-leading and consistently safe.

Repair welding

Having been in the metal industry for three decades, we’ve learnt a thing or two about welding. With regular repairs to essential industrial machinery, heavy goods transport, heavy-duty furnaces, our expertise means that just about anything that has cracked or split as a result of wear and tear can be returned to its original specification with our advanced welding services.
