Customised Sheet Metal (CSM) proudly announces its victory in the SME of the Year category at the Make UK Manufacturing Awards, Wales region. The highly competitive award was awarded at the ceremony last week.
The awards celebrate the best, most innovative and ambitious manufacturing companies across the UK. This significant achievement qualifies CSM to compete in the national awards, set to take place at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
The prestigious black-tie event at St Paul’s Cathedral, which takes place on January 25th 2024, offers a platform to celebrate the best in UK manufacturing. CSM’s recognition at the regional level positions the company as a contender for national accolades, and reflects the company’s position as a leading manufacturer and employer.
Established in 1992 by Malcolm Pearce, Customised Sheet Metal (CSM) is a distinguished player in bespoke sheet metal fabrication, operating from Bridgend at Brackla Industrial Estate. Specialising in architectural and bar top, warehouse and manual handling, and general sheet metal fabrication, CSM has a team of 40 full-time members and two apprentices, working from a spacious, self-contained unit.
Under the strategic leadership of Managing Director Keith David and a robust management team, CSM has undergone transformational growth, marked by a staff increase, a strategic move to an expansive 18,000 sq ft facility in 2022, and investments in cutting-edge technology for LEAN methods.
CSM’s success story extends beyond innovation to encompass internal staff development, community engagement, and partnerships with world-renowned companies. The company’s resilience, dedication to growth, and impact on both the industry and the local community position it as a worthy contender for the SME of the Year award, exemplifying a bright future in the manufacturing sector.
CSM expresses gratitude to Make UK and the judges for the regional recognition, and the company looks forward to representing Wales at the national level. The team is excited about the opportunity to compete on the national stage and remains committed to upholding the standards of excellence that have led to this achievement.
