The team here at Customised Sheet Metal has gone out of their way to facilitate a last minute order for a customer.
CSM was approached by a customer to manufacture a balancing, stability arraignment for a spiral chute. The information was received from the customer on a Monday, with materials being received late Tuesday. The deadline for the project was 6am Thursday.
The work included, drilling, welding, grinding, assembling and painting. Having received the materials for the work on Tuesday, the team at CSM were then informed at 5pm on Wednesday of a change to the required materials.
This meant having to source the required paint and organise delivery to ensure the work could still be completed on time.
As testament to the values and culture of the company, staff members were willing to work through the night to ensure the work was completed for a 6am collection.
Some parts of the work were completed within a normal shift and an early 1am start after finishing at 4.30pm the previous day.
The customer was extremely satisfied with the work and the quick turnaround for delivery.
Keith David, Managing Director, comments on the project:
“We are extremely grateful to the CSM team for their help in producing the solution for the customer to specification and on time – despite all the challenges. We’d also like to give a special mention to Derryl Watkins, the Production Manager, for organising the project and the additional hours he put in personally to ensure the customer wasn’t let down.”
